Pre Care for Semi Permanent Makeup Lips
Booked in for semi-permanent lips? Please follow the Pre Care tips below…
- Remove any piercings obstructing the treatment area
- Avoid exercise on the day of your treatment
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, Vitamin E, Advil and ibuprofen 24 hrs before treatment
- Do not have electrolysis or laser hair removal or waxing on the treatment area within 1 week to avoid irritation
- Minimise sun exposure & avoid sun / tanning beds 2 weeks before treatment
- Do not have botox or fillers within 2 weeks prior to your treatment
- Do not use retinol products on the face within 3 weeks prior to your treatment
- Take extra precautions to avoid broken skin or lesions on the treatment area
- If you take aspirin, please speak to your doctor about taking a short break before your initial treatment & touchup treatment to optimise results (if this isn’t possible, we can still treat you, however we cannot guarantee optimal healed results)
- Do not schedule spa-grade skin peels in the 6 weeks leading up to your treatment
Post Care for Semi Permanent Makeup Lips
Please follow this advice after your Semi Permanent Lips treatment to promote healing & optimize results…
Immediately following your treatment:
- Apply light pressure on lips with a clean paper towel
- Moisturize every 30 minutes
- Clean with a damp cotton pad every hour
- Avoid contact with the treatment area (no kissing!)
Within 7 days of your treatment:
- Apply cream several times a day for the next 7 days
- Avoid oily, spicy & heavily seasoned foods
- Drink with a straw
- Gently rinse & clean your lips with water after eating & pat dry before re-applying cream
Within 14 days of your treatment:
- Keep lips moist with cream to boost color intensity
- Avoid increased sweating through exercise / sports & swimming
- Do not take a hot sauna, hot bath or jacuzzi
- Avoid sun & salon tanning
- Limit exposure UV / UVA Rays
- Do not undergo any laser or chemical treatments / peels
- Avoid using products containing AHA’s, Retin-A & Hydrocortisone
- Avoid touching the treatment area except for when applying cream
- Do not pick, peel or scratch the treatment area to prevent scarring or removal of pigment
- Avoid drinking alcohol in excess as it can slow down the healing process
